President Bongbong Marcos has responded to the statements made by VP Sara Duterte during her midnight press conference on November 23.

No joke, no joke nagbilin na ako ma’am. Pag namatay ako, sabi ko ‘Huwag kang tumigil hanggang di mo mapatay sila.’ And then he said ‘Yes.’”

President Marcos, through the Office of the President, released a measured response.
“Kung ganoon nalang kadali ang pagpatay sa isang Presidente, papano na kaya ang pangkaraniwan na mamayan? ‘Yang ganyan na kriminal na pagtatangka ay hindi dapat pinapalampas, ‘yan ay aking papalagan.”
Bongbong Marcos added, “As a democratic country, we need to uphold the rule of law. Ako, bilang pinuno ng Executive Department, at lahat ng nanunungkulan sa pamahalaan ay may sinumpaang tungkulin na tutuparin at pangangalagaan ang konstitusyon at ang ating mga batas. Kaya hindi tama ang pagpigil sa mga halal ng bayan sa paghahanap ng katotohanan.”
Moreover, he emphasized that everyone in the Executive Branch is not exempt from questioning from other government sectors.
The President then went on further to discuss the importance of not compromising the country’s rule of law. “Kailangan manaig ang batas sa anumang sitwasyon, sino man ang tamaan.”
