24 Oras has announced that media giants GMA and ABS-CBN are collaborating to co-produce the new season of the TV reality competition show, Pinoy Big Brother.

This partnership was officially announced during a segment on “24 Oras,” where Kuya revealed the exciting news to host Iya Villania while visiting the Pinoy Big Brother house.

The new edition will feature artists from both networks, GMA’s Sparkle and ABS-CBN’s Star Magic, living together as housemates, marking a significant milestone for the show as it celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2025.

“Together, Kapuso and Kapamilya stars will collaborate and create unforgettable moments inside the PBB house,” ABS-CBN said in a statement.

Pinoy Big Brother’s newest season will then be called “PBB Celebrity Edition Collab” which will air on GMA for the first time with a contract signing event scheduled today, January 28 to formalize the collaboration.

While the PBB celebrity edition collab is new for both networks, there have been notable collaborations between ABS-CBN and GMA Network in the past years like the 2023 primetime series “Unbreak My Heart,” which starred ABS-CBN’s Jodi Sta. Maria and Joshua Garcia and GMA 7’s Richard Yap and Gabbi Garcia.

A year later, another historic event happened after executives of GMA and ABS-CBN signed a contract for the noontime variety show It’s Showtime for its airing on the main GMA channel.

In the latest season of “Pinoy Big Brother Gen 11,” Fyang Smith was crowned the “big winner” during a groundbreaking finale that achieved a record-breaking 2.26 million concurrent viewers on ABS-CBN Entertainment’s YouTube and Facebook channels.

This news could bring surprises for the upcoming Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Edition this year. Who will enter Big Brother’s house? Will kuya still be in PBB?
