Filipina Olympics gymnastics representatives end the sixty-year drought as they almost qualified for the artistic gymnastics finals. While there are still hurdles to cross, these Filipinas have already achieved a lot with their current standing.
Levi Ruvivar, Emma Malabuyo, and Aleah Finnigan are the Philippines’ representatives for gymnastics at the Olympics. They are currently outside the Top 24, meaning they’re qualified for the final games.
The ladies are competing in Subdivision 3 with the following scores:
- Balance beam: Ruvivar 11.8666, Finnegan 11.4666, and Malabuyo 12.233
- Floor exercise: Finnegan 12.733, Malabuyo 13.1000, and Ruvivar 12.433
- Uneven bars: Malabuyo 12.500, Finengan 12.566, and Ruvivar 13.383

Their scores place Finnegan in 33rd place with 50.498 points, while Ruvivar and Malabuyo are tied for 28th and 29th places, each with scores of 51.099.
However, as of early Monday, the ladies conclude their Olympic artistic gymnastics journey. Earlier this morning, Ruvivar, Malabuyo, and Finnegan finished at 36th, 37th, and 42nd respectively, overall.
The trio also didn’t have the opportunity to perform any apparatus finals since they were far from the top eight of each routine. While they were not able to make it to the finals, they continued to make the Philippines proud.

The three ladies are the first females to represent the country in the Olympics for gymnastics since 1964. Citizens believe this is an achievement in itself, as the Philippines returns to the scene after over sixty years.
The representatives from the Philippines for the Olympics in artistic gymnastics performance are included in the country’s highlights.
During their run, they excelled in various events. Ruvivar earned a bronze medal in the uneven bars, while Finnegan led the Filipino team in the vault with a score of 13.033. Malabuyo shone in the floor exercise, where she is the reigning Asian champion.
Concluding their run at the Olympics for gymnastics, they each scored 50.498 for Finnegan and 51.099 for both Ruvivar and Malabuyo.
