The Philippine weather bureau, PAGASA, has warned that five areas in the country could experience extremely hot weather on Friday, April 11, 2025.
These places may have a heat index that reaches the “danger” level, which could be harmful to people’s health:
- Sangley Point, Cavite – up to 44°C
- Dagupan City, Pangasinan – up to 43°C
- Tayabas, Quezon – up to 42°C
- Roxas City, Capiz – up to 42°C
- Dumangas, Iloilo – up to 42°C
Even Metro Manila will also experience high heat levels:
- Pasay City (NAIA) – up to 40°C
- Quezon City (Science Garden) – up to 38°C
The heat index is not just the actual temperature, but how hot it feels to the body when humidity is added.

PAGASA says a heat index from 42°C to 51°C is already at the danger level.
At this point, people may suffer from heat cramps, exhaustion, or even heat stroke if they stay outside too long.
A heat index of 33°C to 41°C is still risky and can cause health problems too.

PAGASA earlier said the hottest days may still come near the end of April and in May.
To stay safe, PAGASA advises the public to drink lots of water, avoid going out between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., wear light clothes, and take breaks if doing outdoor work.
People are also advised to stay in cool or shaded areas and avoid hard physical activities during peak heat hours.
As the dry season continues, it is important for everyone to stay alert and take care of their health during this hot weather.
The heat index is how hot it feels to the human body when the actual air temperature is combined with humidity. It’s also called the “feels-like” temperature.
A heat index of 42°C to 51°C is classified as a danger level. At this point, people may suffer from heat cramps, heat exhaustion, or even heat stroke.
Exposure to very high temperatures may lead to:
Heat cramps
Heat exhaustion
Heat stroke (which can be life-threatening)
