The Paris Olympics 2024 opening ceremony will take place on Saturday, July 27, at 1:30 AM Philippine time. The event will likely last several hours.
Instead of a traditional stadium march, approximately 10,500 athletes will parade on over 90 boats along a 6-kilometer (3.7-mile) stretch of the Seine River.
The festivities will kick off at the Austerlitz Bridge near the Jardin des Plantes, following the scenic route of the Seine from east to west, passing by two city islands and numerous bridges along the way.
Athletes will preview several venues for the Paris Olympics, including La Concorde Urban Park, Invalides, and the Grand Palais.
The parade will culminate at the Iena Bridge, connecting to the Eiffel Tower on the left bank of the Seine.
The ceremony’s grand finale will be at the Trocadéro, where French President Emmanuel Macron will deliver the opening remarks.
