WEATHER UPDATE – According to PAGASA, the country will experience cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and light rains, and partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers in other areas today, February 29 (Thursday).
Cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms will be experienced across Mindanao, specifically in the Davao Region, which is affected by the trough of a low-pressure area with possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to, at times, heavy rains.
Aurora will encounter cloudy skies with light rains caused by the Northeast Monsoon with no significant impact.
Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains will prevail in Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon caused by the Northeast Monsoon with no significant impact.
The rest of the country will encounter partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms. The Easterlies have an impact on these areas, and during severe thunderstorms, possible flash floods or landslides.
Furthermore, PAGASA’s wind and coastal water conditions show that northern and eastern sections of the country will experience northeast to east winds, causing moderate to rough coastal water conditions (1.2 to 2.8 meters).
PAGASA advised Luzon areas affected by the Northeast Monsoon to monitor weather updates closely. Remain vigilant and be prepared to evacuate if necessary.
