WEATHER UPDATE – According to PAGASA, the country will experience light rain and cloudy skies, and scattered rain showers and thunderstorms in other areas are expected today, February 28 (Wednesday).
Cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms will be experienced across Mindanao, specifically in the Davao Region and Caraga, which is affected by the trough of a low-pressure area with possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to, at times, heavy rains
Cagayan Valley and Aurora will encounter cloudy skies with light rains caused by the Northeast Monsoon with no significant impact.
Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains will prevail in Metro Manila, Visayas, and the rest of Luzon caused by the Northeast Monsoon with no significant impact.
The rest of Mindanao will encounter partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms. The Easterlies have an impact on these areas, and during severe thunderstorms, possible flash floods or landslides.
Furthermore, PAGASA’s wind and coastal water conditions show that Luzon, Visayas, and the northern and eastern sections of Mindanao of the country will experience northeast to east winds, causing moderate to rough coastal water conditions (1.2 to 3.1 meters).
PAGASA advised areas affected by the Northeast Monsoon to monitor weather updates closely, especially for warnings of heavy rains, thunderstorms, and possible flash floods or landslides.
