WEATHER UPDATE – According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), Northeast Monsoon affects Northern and Central Luzon, Easterlies affects the rest of the country.
WEATHER UPDATE TODAY – December 29, 2023
PAGASA reported that the Northeast Monsoon is affecting Northern and Central Luzon, while the Easterlies are affecting the rest of the country.
Batanes and Babuyan Islands will experience cloudy skies with rain due to the Northeast Monsoon. There is a possibility of flash floods or landslides due to moderate to heavy rains at times.
Visayas, Mindanao, MIMAROPA, and the Bicol Region will also have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to Easterlies/Localized Thunderstorms. Flash floods or landslides may occur during severe thunderstorms.
Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the Northeast Monsoon. However, these conditions will not have a significant impact.
According to PAGASA’s Wind and Coastal Water forecast, Luzon and the eastern section of Visayas will have moderate to strong wind speeds directed to the East going Northeast with moderate to rough coastal water conditions (1.2 to 2.8 meters).
The remainder of the country will experience light to moderate wind speeds directed to the East going Northeast, with slight to moderate coastal water conditions (0.6 to 2.5 meters).
Currently, the Northeast Monsoon affects Northern and Central Luzon, while the Easterlies affect the rest of the country.
