WEATHER UPDATE – According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), Northeast Monsoon affects Luzon, Easterlies affect the eastern sections of Visayas and Mindanao.
WEATHER UPDATE TODAY – December 27, 2023
As stated by PAGASA, Northeast Monsoon affects Luzon, Easterlies affect the eastern sections of Visayas and Mindanao.
PAGASA indicates that Cagayan Valley, Apayao, Kalinga, Aurora, and Quezon will see cloudy skies with rains due to the Northeast Monsoon. There is a possibility of flash floods or landslides from moderate to occasionally heavy rains.
Visayas, Mindanao, Bicol Region, and Palawan will also have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to Easterlies/Localized Thunderstorms. Flash floods or landslides may occur during severe thunderstorms.
Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the Northeast Monsoon. However, these conditions will not have a significant impact.
According to PAGASA’s Wind and Coastal Water forecast, Northern Luzon and the eastern section of Central Luzon will have strong wind speeds directed to the Northeast with rough coastal water conditions (2.8 to 4.0 meters).
The rest of Luzon, and the eastern sections of Visayas and Mindanao will have moderate to strong wind speeds directed to the East facing Northeast, with moderate to rough coastal water conditions (1.2 to 3.1 meters).
The remainder of the country will experience light to moderate wind speeds directed to the Northeast, with slight to moderate coastal water conditions (0.6 to 2.5 meters).
At present, the Northeast Monsoon is affecting Luzon, while Easterlies are affecting the eastern sections of Visayas and Mindanao.
