WEATHER UPDATE — According to the Philippines Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), there are currently no low-pressure areas due to the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) that is affecting Palawan, Visayas, and Mindanao causing severe rain falls and thunderstorms in the areas.
The weather in Luzon will be partly sunny with a chance of rain during the afternoon or evening. Down South, such as Visayas or Mindanao, will be experiencing rain and thunderstorms. Although the ITCZ is affecting the South, there are no gale warnings issued by PAGASA.
Weather Today – June 22, 2023
Areas such as Palawan, Central Visayas, Southern Leyte, Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, and Caraga will be experiencing cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms that the ITCZ causes. With all the rain and thunderstorms, flash floods or landslides are bound to happen even with light to moderate rains.
The temperature will range from 24°C to 32°C.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will also be experiencing cloudy skies with rain showers and thunderstorms that are caused by the ITCZ and localized thunderstorms from other areas, which may affect the areas with flash floods or landslides when there is a severe thunderstorm.
Temperatures will average from 22°C to 37°C.
Although PAGASA issued no direct warnings, they have given several general flood advisories in areas affected by ITCZ.
