Local authorities have issued warnings for flash floods, particularly in low-lying areas near river channels. Coastal communities are advised to stay vigilant, as sea conditions may become hazardous due to gale-force winds accompanying the typhoon.

As of this update, PAGASA will continue to monitor Typhoon Marce closely and provide regular advisories. Here are some things that you need to know about the current situation.
Where to evacuate during the typhoon?
During a typhoon like Marce, it’s best to evacuate to a designated evacuation center if local authorities issue an advisory. This includes schools, gymnasiums, and government buildings. Check with your barangay (village) officials for the closest evacuation sites, as they will have the latest updates on where to go and the resources available.
What safety measures should be taken during Typhoon Marce?
It is best to secure your homes and clear any debris that may become hazards in high winds. Those living in low-lying areas or near rivers should monitor local alerts for possible flooding and landslide warnings. Also, it’s essential to have an emergency kit prepared with food, water, batteries, and first aid supplies.
Aside from that, staying updated on the PAGASA weather forecast and official government advisories is crucial. You should keep on standby to respond promptly if evacuation is advised.
Why is it important to stay alert as Typhoon Marce approaches?
Coastal areas in Northern Luzon face additional risks from Typhoon Marce, such as storm surges, strong winds, and dangerous sea conditions. High waves and gale-force winds can damage structures near the shore, and storm surges can lead to severe coastal flooding.
Fisherfolk and those in small boats are particularly vulnerable and should heed PAGASA’s advice to avoid going out to sea.
