Members of One Direction were “completely devastated” over the news of Liam Payne, who fell from the balcony of his Buenos Aires hotel room. The group has released an official statement on their Instagram account to address the news.
“We’re completely devastated by the news of Liam’s passing, and when everyone is able to, there will be more to say. But for now, we will take time to grieve and process the loss of our brother, who we loved dearly,” the statement said.

Each band member also expressed their grief individually. Louis Tomlinson was the first to post an Instagram update about his emotions and his experience with his former bandmate.
“I am beyond devastated to be writing this, but yesterday I lost a brother. Liam was somebody I looked up to every day, such a positive, funny, and kind soul,” Tomlinson said.
He concluded his tribute message with a wish, saying, “I wish I had a chance to say goodbye and tell you one more time how much I loved you.”
Another member, Zayn Malik, shared that he was devastated about Liam Payne’s death.
“I hope that wherever you are right now, you are good and are at peace, and you know how loved you are. Love you, bro,” Zayn wrote in conclusion to his tribute message.
Fellow member Harry Styles also shared an Instagram post featuring a photo of Liam from behind.
“His greatest joy was making other people happy, and it was an honour to be alongside him as he did it,” Harry stated in his post.

One Direction and its fans are not the only ones who are paying tribute to Liam. Other celebrities are also going to social media to pour their condolences and well wishes. DJ and music producer Zedd shared that he couldn’t believe the news.

American model and actress Paris Hilton also shared her tribute to Liam on Twitter/X.

In related news, Liam’s family issued a statement delivered by his spokeswoman:
“We are heartbroken. Liam will forever live in our hearts, and we’ll remember him for his kind, funny and brave soul.”
The spokeswoman also asks the public to give the family privacy.
