On Monday, August 12, Nino Muhlach revealed the text exchange between his son, Sandro Muhlach, and Jojo Nones during a Senate panel. He explained that Richard Cruz and Jojo Nones had invited his son to their hotel room following GMA Network’s gala event on July 20.
Meanwhile, the Senate Committee on Public Information and Mass Media is currently investigating the alleged sexual harassment involving Sandro Muhlach, Richard Cruz, and Jojo Nones.

Nino Muhlach presented the text messages as evidence to debunk the allegations that his son, Sandro, was the one who initially offered to visit the TV contractors’ hotel room.
Expressing his frustration, Muhlach stated, “Nainsulto talaga ako noong sinabi nila sa media na si Sandro ang unang nag text eh. I’m just — that’s why I’m doing this for my son and for all the others na dumaan sa ganitong sitwasyon na walang kakayahan lumaban.”
Subsequently, the former child actor read aloud the text exchange between Sandro Muhlach and Jojo Nones, which was sent at 3:59 AM on July 21.
Muhlach highlighted, “Hi, Sandro. Saw you kanina, didn’t get to say hi. Nakauwi ka na?” indicating that the message was sent by Nones.
Sandro Muhlach then replied: “Sir Jojo, sorry po. Di po kita nakita kanina. Naka check-in po kami right now sa Marriott, Sir. Hope to see you soonest, Sir Jojo.” During the senate hearing, Muhlach shared that his son and Jojo are close and often exchange pleasantries and greetings on text.
Jojo Nones then continued their conversation by asking, “Enjoy. Still partying, sino kasama mo?”
Muhlach said that his son replied that he was just eating and was with his friends, Nate and Elijah Alejo.
According to Nino Muhlach’s testimony, the conversation carried on as follows:
Nones: Be safe.
Sandro: Thank you, Sir Jojo. Hope to work with you again. See you soon po.
Nones: Nabitin ako sa inom hahahaha.
Sandro: Ako nga rin po eh.
Nones: Yes, soon. Cast kita nagdi-direk ako now
Sandro: Wow, sir. Looking forward to that too.
Nones: Gusto mo ba? We have some alcohol here in the room. We can order some more.
Sandro: Saan po kayo, Sir?
Nones: Belmont Hotel, katabi lang ng Marriott.
Sandro: Sino-sino po kayo, Sir? Hahaha
Nones: Just me.
Nino Muhlach said that Sandro did not reply after that text message. “Syempre, yung bata – nakita na siya lang mag isa, hindi na sumagot. Natakot,” he explained.

But at 4:27 AM, Muhlach said that Nones texted his son again saying: “Hahaha just kidding, [I am with] the drama [people]. But we’re wrapping up in a bit.”
“Siyempre, kahit sinong artista na baguhan, given the chance na makasama mo ang drama [people], you will take the chance dahil pagkakataon mo ‘yun i-market yung sarili mo eh. Makasama sila, maka-party mo,” said Muhlach.
Nino Muhlach then continued to read their conversation.
Sandro: Nandyan pa ba kayo, Sir? Baka po pwedeng dumaan saglit hahahaha.
Nones: Sure, may kasama ka?
Sandro: No po, ako lang. Kabababa ko lang po sa room ng friends ko.
Nones: Oks, Belmont Hotel. 700B.
Sandro: Okay po, akyat po ako.
Maggie Abraham-Garduque, counsel for Nones and Cruz, acknowledged that they are not denying that Nones sent the first text. However, in response, Nino Muhlach countered, saying, “Bakit niyo pinapalabas sa media na si Sandro ‘yung unang nag text?”
In response, Abraham-Garduque clarified, “Your honor, we have no — wala po kaming pinapalabas sa media na si Sandro ang unang nag text. We just mentioned that there was a message like that.”
At this point, Senator Jinggoy Estrada interjected, noting that Nones’ camp seems to be “making it appear as if it was Sandro who texted first.”
Nevertheless, Abraham-Garduque replied, “It was not our intention.”
