K-pop group NewJeans, has announced a temporary hiatus due to a legal dispute with their management company, ADOR, a subsidiary of HYBE. 

The conflict began in November 2024 when the group expressed dissatisfaction with ADOR’s management. 

Citing mistreatment and workplace harassment after the dismissal of their mentor, Min Hee-jin. 

In response, the members attempted to terminate their exclusive contracts and rebranded themselves as NJZ.



On March 21, 2025, the Seoul Central District Court issued an injunction preventing the group from pursuing independent activities without ADOR’s consent. 

The court ruled that the members had not sufficiently demonstrated significant negligence on the part of ADOR, thereby upholding the validity of their existing contracts.

Despite the injunction, NJZ performed at ComplexCon in Hong Kong on March 23, 2025, premiering a new song titled “Pit Stop.” 

During the performance, they announced a decision to pause all activities, stating they would regroup and return stronger in the future.



ADOR expressed regret over the group’s decision to perform under a different name.

Their desire to continue working with the members under the original contract.

The outcome of this dispute may have significant implications for artist management and contractual relationships within the K-pop industry.
