After two years of continuous activity, NewJeans is taking a break to mark their second debut anniversary. Their agency, ADOR, announced that the girl group will rest following an intense period of busy schedules.
NewJeans experienced a rapid rise to fame, quickly dominating the charts with their catchy music upon debut. However, this announcement comes amidst various controversies surrounding the group online, including a recently surfaced trainee video and plagiarism allegations.
In a previous statement, ADOR denied these claims and urged Shakatak and Wise Group to provide a “credible analysis report.”
The British band asserted that NewJeans’ new song, “Bubble Gum,” resembles their single “Easier Said Than Done.” In response, the girl group’s management stated that the chord progression, rhythm, and mood are distinctly different.

In a recent statement, their agency expressed concerns about how the media has misconstrued previous reports, which has led to the management being portrayed unfavorably. ADOR stated, “To have a specific agenda to present us in a negative light by reporting about completely unrelated events.”
“Given that legal and PR powers are disproportionately entrusted to HYBE themselves and are not at the individual level, they have given themselves the responsibility to protect NewJeans from any issue that arises. We have called time and time again for this system to be amended, and yet, things are just the same as before.”
Despite these challenges, management reassured fans that plenty of content is in the pipeline. Although the group is taking a break after the NewJeans anniversary, ADOR added, “After this well-deserved rest, they will prepare for their next exciting project for their fans.”

They continued, “These two years have been like a dream. There were difficult times, but thanks to the Bunnies (their fans), we were able to grown and learn through the love and energy exchanged.”
