Netflix has confirmed the production of “Avatar: The Last Airbender” Season 2 with actress Miya Cech as Toph Beifong.

The live-action series is based on the widely popular Nickelodeon animated series of the same name. The story follows Aang, the titular Airbender and ‘Avatar. He and his companions travels to hone his skills in an attempt to end the Hundred Years’ War and bring peace among the four nations.

Ever since the platform announced its plans to develop an Avatar live-action series, fans have reacted with mixed feelings. Some fans expressed worry after Shyamalan’s attempt didn’t garner positive results. However, when Netflix streamed the series, it was well-praised by the general audience and remained faithful to the original source.



After the conclusion of the first season, fans are eager to see more and speculate on how other Avatar: The Last Airbender characters will be treated. Toph is one of the many fan favorites, and her serving the teaser for Avatar Season 2 leaves such an impact. 

Toph is a powerful and sassy earthbender, using her skills to ‘see’ the world around her to compensate for her blindness. Fans also remember her for being one of Aang’s teachers.

Miya Cech first debuted in The Darkest Minds back in 2018. She also appeared in the films Rim of the World, Are You Afraid of the Dark?, and Marvelous and the Black Hole. The team at Netflix has been considering Cech for the role, as she had a supporting role in You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah and Beef.



Netflix’s Avatar live-action cast includes Gorden Cormier as Aang, Kiawentiio as Katara, Ian Ousley as Sokka, and Dallas Liu as Zuko. 

The teaser video below shows Miya Cech playing Toph. The official date for ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender: Season 2’ has yet to be confirmed.
