Netflix teases fans yet again with a brand new poster for the highly anticipated series: “Squid Game: Season 2.” What’s more to this is that the streaming juggernaut also adds the news that the season’s special teaser will be released tomorrow, September 20, Manila time.
The poster reveals a “worker” pulling a decapitated player over a children’s track field toward a black box with pink ribbons. The poster feels like a surprise gift to the fans, and it rightly deserves that impression.

The streaming platform has been teasing the second season of the Squid Game series. The first materials date back to August 1 in the form of an announcement. Director, writer, and executive producer Hwang Do-hyuk released a statement at the time regarding his return to the series:
“I am thrilled to see the seed that was planted in creating a new Squid Game grow and bear fruit through the end of this story,” Do-hyuk said. “We’ll do our best to make sure we bring you yet another thrill ride.”
The announcement also came with the first promotional video, which served to excite the fans:
The first promotional video confirms the madness and the deaths fans expect to see in the upcoming season. In the same announcement, actors Lee Jae, Lee Byung-hun, Gong Yoo, and Wi Ha-jun confirmed their return. They will reprise their respective characters.

“Squid Game: Season 2,” also known as “Squid Game 2” to some fans, takes place three years after the first season’s events. A surviving player, portrayed by Lee Jae, seeks to find the people behind the life-and-death game and stop their dark actions.
Netflix has also provided more news about the series’ future. The platform has confirmed the release date of Squid Game: Season 2 will premiere on December 26 of this year. Furthermore, to everyone’s surprise, the platform has approved a 3rd season, set for release in 2025.
