Netflix has announced that Benedict Bridgerton will take the lead in the upcoming fourth season of ‘Bridgerton.’ Following the recent release of its third season, Netflix teased fans on Tuesday, July 23, about what’s next for the popular American historical romance series.
“Despite his elder and younger brothers both being happily married, Benedict is loath to settle down—until he meets a captivating Lady in Silver at his mother’s masquerade ball,” reads the official description in Netflix’s statement.
Like the recent season, the fourth installment will feature eight “extremely juicy” episodes, as teased by showrunner Jess Brownell.
‘Bridgerton,’ based on Julia Quinn’s novels, follows the eight close-knit siblings of the influential Bridgerton family as they seek love. Season 1 chronicled Daphne’s tumultuous quest for the perfect husband, while Season 2 saw fans captivated by Anthony’s passionate romance with his true match.
In Season 3, viewers followed Colin as he realized his feelings for a close family friend.

This time, the spotlight is on Benedict Bridgerton, portrayed by Luke Thompson. He is a fan favorite known for his charming wit and bohemian lifestyle. In Julia Quinn’s third book, ‘An Offer From a Gentleman,’ a key moment in Benedict Bridgerton’s story is his search for the “lady in silver,” whom he meets at a masquerade ball. This mysterious lady turns out to be Sophie Beckett, a low-born woman.
In previous seasons, Netflix and Shondaland have excellently subverted expectations with some changes to the storyline and characters. So, it’s natural to wonder how the series will alter Sophie Beckett and Benedict Bridgerton’s story this time around.
