The National University (NU) Pep Squad has soared back to the pinnacle of cheerdance excellence, clinching the UAAP Cheerdance Champion 2024 title in stunning fashion.
Delivering a captivating space-themed routine, the squad wowed 19,121 fans at the Mall of Asia Arena during the Season 87 festivities.
Their performance marked a triumphant return to the top after finishing second last year. It is known that Far Eastern University (FEU) Cheering Squad was crowned as UAPP Cheerdance 2023 Champion.
NU executed an amazing routine, featuring gravity-defying stunts and synchronized dance moves that earned them a total of 713 points—the highest among all participating teams.
This extraordinary display also secured them all the special awards, including:

- Juicy Cologne Juicyfied Pyramid
- AIA Ascend Best Aerial Performance
- Jollibee Best Toss
- Silka Stay Lit Dance Move Awards

The NU Pep Squad’s efforts tied them with the University of Santo Tomas (UST) and the University of the Philippines (UP) for the most number of cheerdance titles in UAAP history, with eight championships each.

Head coach Gabby Bajacan credited the victory to the team’s relentless dedication.
“Sobrang hindi po namin in-expect ‘to. The whole competitors sobrang nag-step up lahat sila. Nakita namin yung dedication ng bawat team ngayon, so we did not expect na mananalo kami” he shared after the event.

The UAAP Cheerdance 2024 results saw Adamson University earning silver with 679.5 points for their Karaoke Medley-themed performance, marking their first podium finish since 2022.
Meanwhile, defending champions FEU settled for bronze with 650 points, showcasing a Frozen-inspired routine.
The competition also highlighted dynamic performances from other squads, with UE’s SexBomb theme earning 641 points for fourth place and UST’s nostalgic “Batang 90s” routine landing them in fifth with 634.5 points.
