Lily Monteverde, founder of Regal Films Entertainment, passed away on Sunday, August 4, at 85. Her family announced her passing through a statement posted on Regal Entertainment Inc.’s social media pages. However, her cause of death was not disclosed.
Fondly known as Mother Lily Monteverde, she would have celebrated her 86th birthday on August 19th.
“Mother Lily spent her final hours surrounded by her children and grandchildren. She had the blessing of saying goodbye to her closest friends and associates, who bid her farewell yesterday before she embarked on her journey back home to the Divine Father,” her family said in a statement posted on Regal Entertainment’s social media accounts.

“The Monteverde family is requesting your prayers and asking you to cherish the memory of Mother Lily not only as a face of cinema but also as the loving mother she truly was and will always be,” they added.
Lily Monteverde founded the film and television production company Regal Entertainment in 1962. She was a famed producer who provided opportunities to Filipino filmmakers. She produced Filipino classics like ‘Mano Po’ and ‘Shake, Rattle, and Roll,’ among many others.

In addition, Mother Lily has helped launch the careers of several prominent actors, including Alma Moreno, Gabby Concepcion, William and Albert Martinez, Ruffa Gutierrez, Snooky Serna, Dina Bonnevie, and the Diamond Star Maricel Soriano.
The wake and memorial service for Mother Lily will begin at 3:30 p.m. on August 5 and continue until August 9 at 38 Valencia Events Place, Quezon City. The interment will be on August 10 at The Heritage Park, Taguig.
Mother Lily’s passing came only days after the death of her husband, Remy Monteverde, last Monday, July 29.
