The Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2024 is set to dazzle audiences once again, bringing a lineup of exciting entries for its 50th-anniversary celebration.
Featuring a mix of star-studded blockbusters and groundbreaking independent films, the MMFF continues its tradition of showcasing the best of Philippine cinema during the holiday season.
What is MMFF?
The MMFF is an annual film festival held in the Philippines during the Christmas season. Established in 1975, the festival aims to celebrate and promote Filipino artistry, storytelling, and talent in filmmaking. Unlike other times of the year, only locally-produced films are shown in theaters nationwide during the MMFF.
The festival traditionally opens on Christmas Day, December 25, with a grand parade of stars featuring floats representing each film entry. Awards for categories such as Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Actor are presented at the Gabi ng Parangal (Awards Night).
