A long weekend is set to take place in line with the Holy Week 2024 in the Philippines. 

Similar to last year, the 2024 holidays could result in several long weekends. According to Proclamation No. 368, which declares the Regular Holidays and Special (Non-Working) Days for the Year 2024, six of them coincide with weekends. One of these holidays is the Holy Week in 2024.

According to the Holy Week 2024 schedule in the Philippines, Maundy Thursday and Good Friday are regular holidays, while Black Saturday is designated as a special non-working holiday. Meanwhile, Easter Sunday, on March 31, 2024, marks the culmination of Holy Week celebrations.

Hence, below is the list of holidays for the aforementioned week, providing an extended weekend for everyone.

• March 28 (Thursday) – Maundy Thursday
• March 29 (Friday) – Good Friday
• March 30 (Saturday) – Black Saturday
• March 31 (Sunday) – Easter Sunday

The prolonged weekend presents an opportunity for deep spiritual reflection and rejuvenation. Followers are urged to explore different places of worship and religious landmarks, participating in prayer, meditation, and gestures of penance, thus reaffirming the fundamental principles of the Lenten period.
