Karen Davila features Maricar Reyes and singer-husband Richard Poon in her most recent Youtube vlog. In the video, they talk about their dating relationship, married life, and Maricar’s business.

The video starts with a sit-down interview between the three of them. They were very open about Maricar Reyes’ past issues. They talked about how this affected their relationship and changed Maricar’s life.

The scandal was a very prominent one when it came to light in the 2000s, involving an intimate video of her and celebrity doctor Hayden Kho. Richard Poon shared that a lot of people talked to him about his relationship with the actress.

During this time, a friend asked him if he was okay with people asking his future kids about his wife’s past. Additionally, Maricar said that he always approached the relationship in a manner that he, himself wasn’t perfect. Richard said that he also had skeletons in his closet that weren’t seen by the general public.

Maricar Reyes says, “Iba siya because he was very honest and he had that thing na parang, ‘I’m not cleaner than you’ may ganon na siyang vibe, which I didn’t really feel with a lot of people.”

Richard said that when you get to know someone, their public persona differs greatly from their private one. 

“So, for me, importante is, you can judge my wife from afar. Pero for me, iba siya sa bahay eh. When you get to know the real Maricar at home, iba. Ibang-iba. “

Moreover, the actress shared that she was scared of her issue haunting her for the rest of her life. 

“You spend so many years trying to do the right thing. Being the good girl, following the rules. Actually, one of my biggest struggles was– why I couldn’t write the book. Kasi ‘yun ‘yung hindi ko mabitawan, the reputation (that) I lost,” Maricar said.

Additionally, the couple shared that the Lord is the center of Maricar Reyes and Richard Poon’s relationship.

Maricar also says that she forgives the people who’ve wronged her. “I think that was one of the biggest things that I had to get off my chest. Kasi ‘yun ‘yung– it really ruins– the person that doesn’t want to forgive, siya ‘yung nadadrag down. It’s like drinking poison, hoping that the other person would die, ganon.”

She further adds, “May dream ako that everything negative on the internet na about me would suddenly disappear. Will disappear because of technology, again may nag-ooffer to help. Pero, the reality is, hindi eh. So, that’s something I have to accept and really just work with. 

So, now it’s actually quite nice na when I do talks, it’s now a tool for me to help other women. Na may pinagdaanan, so instantly meron akong connect sa kanila.”
