MANILA, PHILIPPINES — Actor Marco Gumabao recently referred to a viral answer by his girlfriend, Cristine Reyes, in a 2019 interview after they publicly revealed their relationship.
On Wednesday, Reyes posted a picture of her and Gumabao on her Instagram Story with the text: “Definitely not tropa anymore. Home kasi…” The 34-year-old actress also tagged her beau’s account.
This caught the attention of Gumabao, who reposted the IG Story on his own account and replied with: “Hindi na couga… ‘di ko na itutuloy (grinning-squinting face emoji).”

The actor was about to type “cougar,” which Reyes mentioned when she appeared in ABS-CBN’s “Tonight With Boy Abunda” in 2019. During the “Totropahin o Jojowain” game challenge, where guests would comment if they considered a personality a friend or a romantic partner, Reyes raised the card indicating “Tropa” when Gumabao’s photo was flashed.
“Si Marco… we’re friends. Ang bata pa ni Marco,” Reyes said, which means “Marco… we’re friends. Marco is still young.”
Reyes then added, “Ano ako, cougar?” while chuckling. According to the slang’s definition, cougar means “a middle-aged woman seeking a romantic relationship with a younger man” or “an older woman who has sexual relationships with younger men.” Reyes is six years older than Gumabao.

Gumabao recently posted photos on Instagram showing him, and Reyes spending time together and captioned it with “You are my home and my adventure all at once.” The post came weeks after Gumabao reportedly said he has a “special” relationship with Reyes.
The last photo showed a pink note with the words: “HA HA HA! LOVE YOU!” It was also accompanied by a drawing of a smiling face.
Marco captioned his post with the following: “You are my home and my adventure all at once.” It was accompanied by emojis of a red heart and a kissing face.
Reports said that the two “have been on each other’s orbits since at least 2012.” They both starred in the 2023 period drama “Martyr or Murderer,” which is a fictionalized account of the Marcos family’s story before and after the People Power Revolution. – WhatALife!/Jayve
