Singer Madonna is in Pompeii, Italy, for her 66th birthday. Along the way, she donated to a local theater that supports at-risk children. The singer was in Italy for several days, reportedly as a guest for Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana.
The singer brings her two daughters, Estere and Stella, and her rumored boyfriend, soccer player Akeem Morris, with her during the trip. They stayed at Positano’s Villa TreVille resort, a quiet and luxurious 5-star hotel.
Madonna’s birthday takes on a different route as the singer, alongside her entourage, met the young members of “Dream of Flying.” The project is organized by the Pompeii Museum alongside local youth. The museum staff stated that Madonna herself supported the project by financing for an entire year.

Pompeii’s director, Gabriel Zuchtriegel, gave the singer and her group a private tour, where the young actors presented a short tease of their work. Organizers also stated the project, now in its fourth year with a budget of about 250,000 euros, has engaged approximately 300 teenagers and children from the area. They participate as actors, musicians, and writers.
“The Dream of Flying project so generously supported by Madonna is strategic for Pompei because it addresses the people living in this wonderful and complex territory,” Zuchtriegel said. “Particularly the young, and makes them protagonists of an experience through which we wanted to demonstrate that art and culture truly can change our lives.”
The site director also thanks Madonna for her generosity to the project.

Additional highlights of Madonna’s birthday celebration include the singer taking part in traditional Italian Ferragosto celebrations from the balcony of the La Tagliata restaurant.

“Back in Italy. Happy Birthday to ME,” Madonna stated in her Instagram’s description.
