WEATHER UPDATE — According to the Philippines Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), at 3:00 AM today, a Low-Pressure Area (LPA) was monitored outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).
The LPA is 500 km East of Borongan City, Eastern Samar. It is tagged along the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ), affecting Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
“Though it is still not affecting the country, we are not ruling out its chance of turning into a tropical cyclone in the next few days,” Pagasa weather forecaster stated.
Weather Today – June 26, 2023
Visayas, MIMAROPA, Bicol Region, Aurora, and Quezon will be experiencing cloudy skies with rain showers and thunderstorms that the ITCZ will cause. The heavy rain may cause flash floods or landslides in the areas.
The weather in the listed areas will be heavy rain early in the day.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will also experience cloudy skies with rain showers and thunderstorms that the ITCZ and localized thunderstorms cause. The weather will cause flash floods and landslides in certain areas experiencing severe thunderstorms. People are advised to take cautionary action.
Although bound to experience heavy rain, the weather will mostly be fair in Metro Manila and the rest of the country.
PAGASA has issued the possibility of flooding in certain areas.
The areas are:
- Antique
- Capiz
- Negros Occidental
- Iloilo
