‘Love Child’ cast dedicates the film’s release and success as a dedication to the late Lily “Mother Lily” Monteverde. The film producer passed away on Aug. 4 at age 85. Roselle Monteverde, Mother Lily’s daughter, made an appearance during the premiere of “Love Child” on Aug. 5. Mother Lily’s cause of death has yet to be confirmed.
“This (film) is a love message to all parents out there, especially to the Monteverde family, so their voices and stories will be heard by many people,” said actress Jane Oineza. The actress plays the role of a young mom in the film.

RK Bagatsing, another one of the ‘Love Child’ cast, also released his thoughts. “I’m really thankful to Regal for producing ‘Love Child,’” asserted RK Bagatsing. “This is not just for awesome moms, but for parents to be seen, heard and reach more people. We want to highlight their unconditional love and sacrifices, their strength in the middle of adversities, everything that they are fighting for.”
The cast’s tribute to Mother Lily didn’t stop there as the entire film “is a collaboration to both the team and the whole family at Regal.”
The tribute to Mother Lily is not limited to the ‘Love Child’ film cast. Many public figures have also made their way in paying tribute to the ‘Mother of Filipino films.’ Rufa Mae Quinto took to social media to pay homage in her own unique way.
“Mother Lily, Regal Films, her family. I love them so much. Thanks for all the nice movie projects you gave me. I’m so happy to be a Regal Baby. My deepest sympathy and condolences to the Monteverde family. Mahal ko kayo. Mother Lily and husband rest in peace,” Rufa wrote.
Judy Ann Santos is also among the many paying tribute to Mother Lily via online.
“My dearest mother Lily.. if i remember it right, this was our last photo together when we had our meeting for your biopic before the pandemic happened,” Judy Ann stated in her post. “I could still remember how tight you embraced me when I arrived..”
“I will forever be grateful for your trust and love.. andito ako sa industriyang to, dahil sayo.. thank you mother.. fly high and enjoy walking around the heavens with father.. we love you soo much!”

‘Love Child’ revolves around two young couples who fell in love during college and faced challenges in raising their autistic son. The ‘Love Child’ cast shared the success of the film as a memory for Mother Lily, who herself is dedicated to the local film industry. The film is now showing in the Cinemalaya Film Festival until August 11.
