Talk show host and actress Kris Aquino revealed on Sunday that doctors had initially suspected her of having colon cancer.
In her lengthy Instagram post, she shared that what she had gone through was “devastating.”
“After my PET scan, I was knocked out. I could sense something was wrong because my team of doctors didn’t do their normal rounds,” Kris said.

“The next day, my gastroenterologist had no choice but to tell me because I needed to start my purse for my endoscopy and colonoscopy. The abdominal area, specifically my colon area, lit up,” Kris added.
I’m normally very BRAVE. But I broke down after my doctor left… My mom’s oncologist had to come in, and it felt surreal.”
Kris Aquino’s Instagram post also reveals that both her mother and her grandmother had colon cancer, which was the primary cause of their deaths. Kris feared the worst as she and her family shared the same blood type.
“I share the same blood type as my Lola Ma and my mom. Kuya Josh and Bimb also have the same blood type. Ang hirap to message my sisters with my news,” Kris stated.
After what Kris Aquino described as a tense moment, the doctors reported that she was cancer-free. However, she added that this does not mean she is 100% healthy.
Doctors informed the actress that she needs to recover from six autoimmune conditions, three of which are life-threatening. Kris concludes her post by revealing that she has an upcoming show before the year’s end.

“Para hindi kayo magsawang magdasal, sabi nya you miss watching me. I want to thank my former ABS-CBN bosses for allowing Jasmin and Darla to work with me on a show, which will launch before 2024 ends,” she said.
Kris also joked about keeping her relationship private until she exchanges vows with her mystery partner.
“Apologies, but until my groom and I exchange vows in that very small wedding (but surely not held outdoors), I’m choosing to keep my relationship private,” she said.
Kris Aquino’s cancer scare garnered an overwhelming number of likes and responses from netizens.
“Grabe ka Kris, how you all put us in suspense, swiping left and speed reading as fast as we could. You could be a great novelist,” one user commented.
“Grabe! Galing talaga magsulat. Kinabahan ako ng matindi in the first few slides,” another user shared, admitting that they were worried.
