The Queen of All Media, Kris Aquino, has made her first, rare appearance since her return to the Philippines at the People of the Year 2025 awards night. She attended the event to support her friend, Michael Leyva.

In a brief interview, the actress apologized for her late arrival.

“I’m sorry we’re late, they had trouble waking me up ’cause we started new medicine last night,” she said.

Aquino wore a bright pink blazer over a yellow shirt, along with a long floral skirt. She also donned a facemask for protection.

Kris was accompanied by her son, Bimby, as well as her doctor and three nurses.

During a photo opportunity, her friend playfully asked to take her mask off but she declined saying, “Hindi nga ako pwede magtanggal ng mask, papagalitan ako ng doctor ko.

The People of the Year 2025 awards night marks her first public appearance since facing a medical crisis and receiving treatment for her multiple autoimmune conditions.

The media personality attended the event in support of her friend, fashion designer Michael Leyva.

“There are people who say that ‘I’ll be there for you’ or ‘Maaasahan mo ako’ but Michael has proven that so many times and in so many ways,” she said.

When asked about her well-being, she admitted feeling “not so okay.”

The actress had traveled to the United States in 2022 for treatment, and returned to the Philippines in September 2024.

Prior to her public appearance, Aquino recently shared that she has been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, which adds to seven autoimmune diseases she’s battling.

In her recent Instagram post, she also clarified she is not set to return in the limelight due to her health conditions.
