Pinoy stars Kim Chiu and Paulo Avelino confirmed they will co-star in the upcoming romantic comedy My Love Will Make You Disappear. Chiu and Avelino revealed the film title and news during “It’s Showtime” on August 12, which Chad Vidanes will direct.

“Siyempre, na-miss natin ‘yung pelikulang rom-com, siyempre mula sa Star Cinema. Pre-pandemic pa ata nung nagkaroon tayo ng true blue rom-com from Star Cinema. Kaya ngayong taon, magiging part tayo (nito) na nakaka-excite dahil sa inyo,” Vidanes said.

Kim Chiu and Paulo Avelino first worked together in “Linlang” along with JM de Guzman in  2023. This latest film doesn’t make them strangers. The duo even casted in the K-drama series “What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim?” Kim once said that she and Avelino became close since working with him.

“Okay naman, natatawa naman na siya sa akin. Nagkukuwento naman na siya. So, parang sa tagal na rin kaming magkatrabaho,” she said.

No further details have been provided regarding the plot and release date of the film My Love Will Make You Disappear. However, Vidanes commented that the film will show “how the magic of love can make things go wild and fun.”

“Itong concept na ito is a concept by Prime Cruz and to be written by Patrick Valencia, Isabella Policarpio. Very interesting siya sa akin, classic siya, classic rom-com, very bago,” he said.

“Dahil nasa new era na ang Star Cinema sa paggawa ng pelikula, asahan niyo na marami kaming sorpresa sa project na ‘to.”

While Kim Chiu and Paulo Avelino are close, they are not in a relationship. This, however, doesn’t stop netizens from “shipping” the two actors, especially based on their past works. Past interviews have also asked Avelino if he is currently Kim Chiu’s boyfriend.

“I couldn’t imagine people shipping us because that series is really dark and gritty,” Paulo declared regarding their role back during an interview for  “What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim?”

“And our characters there did nothing but fight. We kept screaming at each other,” added Kim.
