The ‘Trap’ film is the upcoming thriller work by director M. Night Shyamalan. It gives the chilling feeling of a serial killer film at a ‘Taylor Swift’ concert.
“It’s unlike anything else I’ve played,” lead Actor Josh Hartnett commented on his role in the film.
“Honestly, taking on this character wouldn’t have been possible had it not been done for Night because if you’re going to take on something this wild and this out there, you need somebody who you really trust behind the camera.”

Josh Hartnett has appeared in numerous roles, including Black Hawk Down, Lucky Number Slevin, and Pearl Harbor. His role in Trap (2024) marks one of his first thriller-based roles.
“Getting into the mindset of the character involved reading about psychopathy and sociopathy and long discussions with Shyamalan about the tone they wanted the character and the movie to take,” Hartnett added.
The film ‘Trap’ tells the story of Cooper, a father who brings his daughter to a pop concert. He later discovers that the entire event is an elaborate set-up by police in an attempt to capture a serial killer. In a quick reveal, the killer turns out to be Cooper himself.
“I try to create something really hyper original in the marketplace so I can compete,” Shyamalan said during an interview regarding the movie’s plot. He also praised Hartnett for his commitment to the role.

M. Night Shyamalan proudly shares how he created the movie’s story alongside his daughter, Saleka. The latter will also have a role in the film as Lady Raven, a fictional music sensation. As if the film doesn’t have enough touch of family collaboration, Saleka has also written and composed the film’s songs and music.
Saleka gave honest thoughts on her father’s passion for filmmaking and how it is one of the purest things she’s ever seen from anyone.
“What’s interesting to me is that he tells such dark stories because I think he is such a positive person,” she stated.
If you plan to watch itt with your family and friends, the ‘Trap’ film will premiere in Philippine cinemas on August 7th.
