Singer-songwriter Juan Karlos Labajo is overflowing with pride after his girlfriend secured the crown in Santa Cruz, Bolivia on January 10, Manila time. The “Buwan” hitmaker took to social media to express his joy and support for her achievement.
Labajo shared a photo of Mate in her golden evening gown on his Instagram Story, simply captioning it, “Congratulations baby!”.
He also acknowledged the hard work and dedication poured into her pageant journey he wrote in a separate post.
“It fills my heart with warmth and joy to witness your growth and see how far you’ve come,” “You deserve all the good things life has to offer because you never gave up!” He further praised her for representing the Philippines “with such grace and elegance”.
Labajo has been a constant supporter throughout her journey, even attending the Miss World Philippines 2025 national competition.
In July 2024, he expressed his admiration and recognized her efforts in navigating the challenges of the pageant world stating, “You have been my queen since day one.”
Dia Mate’s victory marks the second time a Filipina has won the Reina Hispanoamericana title, with Winwyn Marquez being the first in 2017. Marquez also shared her excitement and congratulations for Mate.
Mate, who represented Cavite in Miss Universe Philippines 2024, also won the Best in National Costume award during the Reina Hispanoamericana pageant.
Labajo’s heartfelt messages reflect the couple’s strong bond and mutual support as they celebrate each other’s achievements on the international stage.
