The official trailer for ‘Joker: Folie À Deux’ has been released, with the exciting news that the film will be featured at the Venice Film Festival. Oscar-winner Joaquin Phoenix returns as the iconic Joker, while Lady Gaga joins him as Harley Quinn.
The film’s title, a French term for “madness for two,” also refers to a medical condition known as shared psychosis. This intriguing title hints at the themes viewers can expect in the highly anticipated sequel.
The Joker 2 trailer picks up where the 2019 film left off, featuring Arthur Fleck (Phoenix) in a police car while radio reporters discuss his upcoming trial. He lets out a brief laugh during the ride, setting the tone for what’s to come.

As the trailer progresses, Gaga’s Harleen Quinzel delivers a voice-over while Harley meets Arthur in Arkham Asylum. “When I first saw Joker, when I saw you, for once in my life, I didn’t feel so alone anymore.” The scene shifts to Harley robbing a store after seeing Arthur on TV.
The trailer is packed with thrilling new clips, offering viewers a deeper glimpse into the inner workings of Arkham Asylum and showcasing Arthur and Harleen escaping from a fiery movie room. Another scene features Arthur singing Stevie Wonder’s “For Once in My Life.”
The trailer then jumps to chaotic sequences involving Joker and Harley. A standout moment occurs when Joker is inside a television studio. He remarks, “I got this sneaking suspicion that we’re not giving the people what they want,” and Harley Quinn responds, “It’s okay, baby. Let’s give the people what they want.”
Director Todd Phillips returns to helm the film, which is classified as a musical thriller. Returning team members include screenplay co-writer Scott Silver and Oscar-winning composer Hildur Guðnadóttir.

Joker: Folie À Deux” has been announced for early screening at the 81st Venice Film Festival. Alongside, films like “Maria,” “I’m Still Here,” “Babygirl,” “Queer,” and “The Room Next Door” will also be featured.
Additionally, “The Order,” an ‘80s-set crime thriller about a white supremacist group, and “Wolfs,” an action comedy about two fixers starring Brad Pitt and George Clooney, will be showcased.
“Joker: Folie À Deux” is set to premiere in Philippine cinemas on October 2, 2024.
