Kapamilya actor Jericho Rosales with longtime partner Kim Jones has defied conventional breakup norms, asserting that being friends with an ex is possible.

In an interview with Cosmopolitan Philippines, Jericho recounted the public acknowledgment of their separation by their godfather Ricci Ocampo in January. 

Instead of dwelling on the end of their romantic journey, Jericho revealed that he and Kim were conversing on the phone, finding humor in the situation.

“We thought that it was the perfect time because the goal was really to show people that we’re good. We’re really good. We’ve crossed over, you know, we’ve transformed the relationship into something really special as friends,” Jericho shared.

Despite the romantic chapter coming to a close, Jericho affirmed that he and Kim continue to support each other in their respective projects. He is actively involved in Kim’s new film project, highlighting their collaboration as artists.

“Actually, I’m working with her on her new project because she’s producing a film for someone. So, I’m also supporting that,” Jericho revealed.

Addressing the public’s perception of their breakup, Jericho expressed optimism about the positive side of their separation. 

“I think the best part was that it was considered a ‘success’ when we felt that people understood and people saw that things like this can happen. And it shouldn’t always be sad. It shouldn’t always be a bad thing. You know what I mean?” he said.

Jericho hopes their story will inspire others to maintain friendly relationships with their ex-partners. 

He views their amicable separation as one of the best things that ever happened to them and encourages people to recognize the possibility of being friends with their exes.

The rumors surrounding Jericho and Kim’s separation began circulating last year, with social media users noticing a lack of posts about each other. 

According to Ocampo, the couple separated in 2019, and the decision was mutual. Despite the end of their romantic connection, Ocampo emphasized that Jericho and Kim remain the best of friends and love each other like family.

Jericho and Kim officially became a couple in October 2011 and exchanged vows in May 2014.
