Careless CEO James Reid sits with Ogie Diaz to discuss Liza Soberano’s exit. What’s shocking is that he brought his legal counsel, Atty. Rodel de Guzman. The lawyer was present to help shed light on their previous involvement with former business partner Jeffrey Oh.

A few days ago, the company released a statement that the actress and singer were no longer affiliated. James said that it felt like the right decision since Liza was focused on her career in LA. Careless, on the other hand, is more focused on growing its artists in the Philippines.

However, James Reid and Liza Soberano ended their working relationship on good terms. The businessman said that they wish her nothing but the best in her LA career.

Things quickly took a turn when it was time to talk about Jeffrey Oh and Careless. The matters were so serious that James Reid had to bring his legal counsel along. 

Atty. Rodel said that there were discrepancies in Oh’s immigration. When these controversies arose, they asked him for the necessary documentation. Oh replied that he should give him a day to collect his paperwork.

However, a day passed, and the company never got the documents. They soon learned that he fled to the States. The lawyer disclosed that more than a hundred million pesos had expense discrepancies.

“I had no idea that a lot of this was happening. It was actually happening for months and had kept me separate from the rest of my team. Kept me in the dark about all these business dealings,” James said.

They then discussed the “Wavy Baby” music festival in Cebu. During the festival, numerous fans and artists expressed their dismay, which led to James Reid issuing an apology to local Cebuano artists. 

Moreover, the businessman shared that Oh didn’t close any sponsorship deals for the event. He said he had to pull money out of his pocket to make ends meet. Jeffrey Oh allegedly promised to pay him back. However, it never happened.

James Reid said it was one of the lowest points of his business career. 

Ogie asked if his attorney was present because he would press charges against his former business partner. Atty. de Guzman said Careless is likely to once they finish their audits.

They revealed that Oh had obligations in other countries as well when he was the company’s COO. And now, these companies are asking James for their end of the bargain. James said they’re working on fixing these relationships.

Furthermore, Ogie also asked about Jeffrey Oh and Liza Soberano’s involvement and if she knew any of this. James said that he kept things very discreet. “I wanted to handle this legally and properly. And quietly without creating so much drama. I didn’t want to raise any alarms and scare anyone.”

Bureau of Immigration officers arrested Jeffrey when he didn’t have the necessary permits to work in the Philippines. By then, he had already worked with James Reid’s Careless company and other businesses for a few years.
