Professional volleyball couple Ivy Lacsina and Deanna Wong sat down on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda to discuss their personal lives, their respective volleyball careers, and their relationship.

The couple shared that it’s important for them to meet each other’s families. They’ve already introduced each other to their respective families, and they even celebrate a few holidays together.

However, Ivy Lacsina shared that her parents weren’t very open to her relationship with Deanna originally. She said her mother didn’t like her being in relationships because “she falls in love too much.”

“Madami po kasing pinagdaanan po saamin, sa side ko po. Kasi before, mga naging past ko po ay parang nakikita po ako lagi ni mama na sobra po akong naiinlove. So, parang ayaw niya na po akong bumalik sa (ganon),” says Ivy.

“Parang ano po, parang sa social media ganyan. Parang ayaw po ni mama nakakakita ng mga pictures namin together. Or pag nagkakausap po sila ni mama parang makikita ko po talaga na parang ayaw niya po, at first po,” she continued.

Ivy Lacsina concluded, “Parang ano po, nakikita niya po talaga ako na parang masaya naman ako. At talagang pinaglaban ko siya.” 

Ivy Lacsina’s girlfriend plays for Choco Mucho while she plays for Akari Chargers. Moreover, Deanna Wong and Ivy Lacsina have been dating for a few years.

In addition to their relationship, they also talked about their volleyball careers. Deanna says it’s important to think about the future when pursuing a career in the sport, and Ivy says failure is critical to improvement. 

When it comes to forever, Ivy said that saying for sure is hard. “Sobrang hirap naman po kasi hindi mo po alam kung partner mo ba is same ba ng nafifeel or naiisip for the future po. So, parang saakin po, kailangan go with the flow lang po kayong dalawa para mag grow po kayo together.”
