November 1 and 2 are important dates in the Philippines. They’re often declared holidays so Filipinos can visit their deceased loved ones in cemeteries or spend time with their family.
With the holiday coming up, you might be wondering: “Is November 1 and 2 a regular holiday?”
According to the Proclamation No. 368, s. 2023, November 1 and 2, 2024, are Special Non-working Holidays. This is in observance of All Saints’ Day on November 1, while All Souls’ Day is observed on November 2.
Special non-working holidays mean workers are not required to report to work, but they’re not entitled to regular pay unless their employers choose to provide it.
Depending on your company’s guidelines, employees on a special non-working holiday typically receive an additional 30% of their regular daily wage on top of their basic pay for the hours worked.
