Ion Perez is creating buzz around social media for the praises he received from his performance on It’s Showtime’s 2024 ‘Magpasikat’ talent showdown on Wednesday, October 23.
It’s Showtime is currently celebrating its weeklong 15th anniversary. Part of the celebration is ‘Magpasikat,’ a segment where the show’s beloved hosts showcase their talents.
This year’s panel will judge their performances: director Rory Quintos, actress Alice Dixson, Kapamilya heartthrob Donny Pangilinan, Kapuso star Gabbi Garcia, and former ABS-CBN President Freddie ‘FMG’ Garcia.

The power trio of Vice Ganda, Karylle, and Ryan Bang kicked off the portion on October 21. Team Ogie Alcasid, Kim Chiu, MC, and Lassy followed their performance on October 22.
Yesterday was Ion Perez, Vhong Navarro, Darren Espanto, and Amy Perez’s turn to show off as Team V.I.D.A. The four performances centered around the theme of ‘Life and Death,’ and Vhong Navarro and Amy Perez started the performance with their own dance routines.
Ion Perez then showed off his strength and agility by balancing on a hanging grid of metal poles onstage, while Darren Espanto performed last with an energetic hula hoop routine.
Ion’s impressive performance earned the praises of the judges, including director Rory Quintos, who said: “Ion, what a surprise. No, really, what a surprise. Ngayon lang kasi kita nakita, and, of course, you’re very fit. So, you were able to do all of those moves.”

“But what really surprised me is that you should really explore acting seriously,” the director continued.
“I know that you’re already acting, taking on roles. Kino-close-up ka kasi dito, eh. Nakaclose-up yung mga mata mo, kargadong-kargado sa mukha,” director Rory added.
To which Ion Perez’s partner, Vice Ganda, couldn’t help but shed a few tears after the director’s high praise.
