Heart Evangelista’s relief efforts extend beyond people; the fashion icon is also helping abandoned pets affected by the devastation of Typhoon Carina.

Evangelista worked alongside the Senate Spouses Foundation Inc. (SSFI) and visited the Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS). She shared the story via video on her Instagram page last Saturday, July 27th. She brought supplies and even interacted with the animals in the shelter.

Heart Evangelista shared her thoughts about the situation and her reasons for her current actions. “Typhoon Carina not only affected thousands of humans but pets as well. No one should be left behind, and that means humans and pets alike in times of calamities.”

She also added how the SSFI is blessed with partners who are looking after animal welfare. These partners have also sent necessary supplies for the pets affected by Carina.

Typhoon Carina struck the Philippines on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, resulting in massive floods within Manila and neighboring areas. Between the calms of the typhoon and the weather, authorities have evacuated pets and stray animals out of the murky waters. They have made their intentions clear that everyone is affected and deserves equal relief.

“What better way to reach out to as many abandoned pets as possible than through and with PAWS Philippines. They have always been part of the National Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council, rescuing animals left behind in times of calamities,” she said.

In the latest information, a total of 28 animals were rescued during Typhoon Carina. Many of them were brought to available shelters.
