”HBO has announced a casting call for its upcoming television series, which will begin the search for the next Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, and Hermione Granger.
Fans spotted the announcement circulating online on Monday, and Variety, a media outlet, has confirmed that it is authentic.
“We are currently only able to consider children who are aged 9-11 in April 2025 and a resident of the UK or Ireland,” the poster read. “Please only apply if you meet the brief.”

The casting call asks each prospective actor to submit two short self-tapes. One is a short poem or story, but nothing from Harry Potter. The second tape is a brief video introducing themselves, including their height, date of birth, and address. However, it asks the actors to use their accents.
The submission deadline for casting is October 31, and the show will start filming in the UK in 2025-2026.
In August 2000, casting directors chose Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint to play Harry, Hermione, and Ron in the original film series. Future cast members will need to fill big shoes in the upcoming series.
