Bianca Pagdanganan puts up her best performance yet in the second round of the women’s golf competition of the 2024 Paris Olympics. On Thursday, August 8, Pagdanganan shot an impressive three-under-par 69. Thus, placing her sixth with five other golfers in the competition.
The 26-year-old golfer tallied an even-par 72 in the opening round on Wednesday by brushing off two bogies in the first four holes. She also earned four birdies, including three in the back nine. Thus, she had a total score of three under 141 in the two rounds.

Placing joint sixth puts Bianca Pagdanganan well within reach of an Olympic medal for the Philippines. If she performs well in the final two rounds of the women’s individual stroke play.
The 26-year-old golfer scored an even-par 72 on Wednesday, overcoming two bogies in the first four holes. Metraux overtook France’s Celine Boutier as the new frontrunner, even though she failed to sustain a good start.
Pagdanganan is also two places behind New Zealand’s Lydia Ko with a 139 total. While Colombia’s Mariajo Uribe and Slovenia’s Pia Babnik are tied in fourth with 140.
Japan’s Yuka Saso, who represented the Philippines in the Tokyo Games, drops to joint 47th after shooting a 74 for a total of 151.

Meanwhile, Pagdanganan’s compatriot, Ardina Dottie, rises four places and is now in joint 36th with her par-even 72 score for a total of 4-over 148 in the first two rounds. She had to compensate for a double bogey at the second hole and birdies at the 11th and 18th holes.
The third round of the women’s golf competition will resume on Friday, August 9.
