“Popstar Academy” winners are here! KATSEYE is in Manila to promote their Netflix documentary and they have a packed schedule for three days in the Philippines.
KATSEYE is a global girl group that debuted last year after an international survival show. Members include Sophia, Lara, Megan, Daniela, Yoonchae, and Manon. They’re a pioneering K-Pop group with members from different cultural backgrounds.
The Philippines warmly welcomed KATSEYE in Manila. One of their members and leader, Sophia Laforteza, is Filipina born and raised. She is also the daughter of prominent theater actress Carla Guevarra.

Based on their management’s announcement, KATSEYE will stay in the Philippines until September 19.
During their press conference yesterday, Sophia showed off her writing skills by offering fans a Taglish version of their hit song, “Touch.”
Favorite Filipino noontime show, It’s Showtime will feature KATSEYE today along with a live interview and Bus Performance on Wish 107.5 Radio. Finally, the HYBE artists will hold their Official Fan Showcase at Ayala Malls Market Market!
The girl group is here to promote their Netflix documentary, “Popstar Academy: KATSEYE,” which highlights the girls’ respective journeys throughout the survival show. It also shows all the other young ladies who competed for a spot on the six-member group.

Additionally, Daniela shared her excitement about visiting the country, saying, “We want to give our best to you guys. And hopefully, you know, you get to see some cute outfits as well. And some cute looks and hairstyles.”
Their song “Touch” made charts on the Billboard 100 in the country. Member Megan Meiyok Skiendiel said, “I think another thing is that very, very memorable is like, when I’m just scrolling on my feed. “I’ve noticed many EYEKONS (KATSEYE fans) covering ‘Touch,’ including some street performances. The variety of fan covers highlights the song’s impact. Overall, these performances showcase the enthusiasm of the fan base.”
