GCash, the Philippines’ leading mobile wallet platform, introduces updates to enhance user experience and security.

Starting May 10, 2025, users will be able to send money up to 550 times and receive funds up to 500 times each month.

These new limits are separate from the overall wallet limits, which dictate how much money can be stored or transacted within a month.

In line with the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) Resolution No. 10946, GCash is implementing temporary daily transaction limits during the 2025 Midterm Elections.

This measure aims to prevent vote-buying and other election-related financial misconduct.

These temporary limits will be in effect until May 12, 2025, and normal transaction limits will resume on May 13, 2025.

GCash users are categorized based on verification status, affecting their wallet and transaction limits.

Basic users have a wallet limit of PHP 10,000, while Fully Verified users enjoy a limit of PHP 100,000.

To increase the wallet limit to PHP 500,000, users have the options to link their bank account, create a GSave account, or invest through GFunds.

These updates reflect GCash’s commitment to providing a secure and efficient platform for its users, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards while adapting to the evolving digital financial landscape.

Are these new limits different from wallet limits?

Yes, transaction limits refer to the number of times you can send or receive money, while wallet limits determine the total amount you can hold or transact within a month.

Why is GCash implementing temporary daily transaction limits?

GCash is introducing temporary transaction limits in compliance with the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) Resolution No. 10946 to help prevent vote-buying and financial misconduct during the 2025 Midterm Elections. These restrictions will be lifted on May 13, 2025.

How can users increase their wallet limit?

To increase the wallet limit beyond PHP 100,000, users must link a bank account, create a GSave account, or invest through GFunds, ensuring compliance with GCash’s verification and security policies.
