Scottish actor Iain Glen, renowned for his portrayal of Ser Jorah Mormont in the acclaimed series “Game of Thrones,” has been cast in the upcoming historical biopic “Quezon.” 

He will play Leonard Wood, a former U.S. Army general who served as Governor-General of the Philippines from 1921 to 1927. 

The film will delve into the life and legacy of Manuel L. Quezon, the second President of the Philippines, who played a crucial role in the country’s path to independence.

Jericho Rosales will take on the titular role, with Benjamin Alves portraying a younger Quezon. 



The ensemble cast also includes Mon Confiado as General Emilio Aguinaldo and Karylle Yuzon as Aurora Quezon, the president’s wife.

Director and co-writer Jerrold Tarog expressed enthusiasm about Glen’s involvement. 

Stating that the actor brings both gravitas and the ability to “let loose,” qualities essential for the character of Leonard Wood. 



TBA Studios President and COO Daphne O. Chiu highlighted the film’s scale, noting it is shaping up to be one of the largest productions in Philippine cinema, with a cast of significant size. 

Production is scheduled to commence this March, with both local and international releases planned for later this year. 

Glen’s casting sparked excitement among fans and industry observers alike, anticipating a compelling portrayal of a historical figure intertwined with the Philippines’ path to sovereignty.
