Former chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP) has been reported to have Alice Guo and her siblings escaping the country. The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) told senators the details on September 17, 2024.

Senator Risa Hontiveros has asked government agencies for further details regarding the secret escape of the former mayor back in July. PAGCOR senior vice president Raul Villanueva responded with the following details:

“May pinag-uusapan sa border immigration, hindi ko lang alam ang exact amount ng bribe, including PNP official [na involved]. Hindi ko lang ma-confirm.”

When Hontiveros pressed for details about which PNP unit aided Guo’s escape, Villanueva responded:

“Hindi PNP unit but personalities. I think it was mentioned… a former Chief, PNP.”

Villanueva stated that the former PNP chief, who remains unnamed, was receiving a monthly payment from Guo. However, he did add that the reports have yet to be fully verified.

In related news, Sen. Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa immediately clarified with Guo regarding the alleged former PNP chief in the payroll of POGOs.

“He (Villanueva) said that there is a former PNP chief receiving a monthly payroll from you, can you find out who it is? I am concerned because I am a former PNP chief.”

Guo replied, “Nothing like that happened,” and double confirmed that she was sure when questioned twice.

Villanueva cleared Dela Rosa of suspicions, stating: “I don’t have any confirmation, but I’m sure you are not the one.”

As of this article’s writing, the NBI and NICA are still exploring all angles in the investigation.
