Agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) visited Zamboanga del Norte to look into the reported abduction of content creator Elliot Eastman.
According to multiple sources, five FBI agents visited Sibuco Mayor Joel Ventura on Saturday for updates regarding the abduction. These agents also visited Eastman’s wife for potential leads.
According to the FBI, they have legal attachés and agents to serve as a bridge to overseas partners while strengthening the global rule of law.

“When a US citizen is missing, we work closely with local authorities as they carry out their search efforts, and we make every effort to keep lines of communication open with families,” the FBI said in a statement.
Elliot Onil Eastman was a content creator who lived in the Philippines for five months after marrying a Filipina. He was abducted by four gunmen late Thursday night, October 17.
Elliot reportedly resisted his kidnappers, who forced him to shoot him in the leg before forcing him into a white boat. The case drove both local law enforcement and the military to launch a search and rescue operation.
Speculations also arose that Abu Sayyaf carried out the abduction. However, this detail is not fully verified.

In related news, the Philippine National Police has identified certain persons of interest who are involved in the abduction of Elliot Eastman.
“We are validating leads to ensure we are tracking the right group to build an airtight case against them,” Police Brig. Gen. Bowenn Joey Masauding stated.
He also added that the Sub-Task Group Quick Reaction Team continuously conducts pursuit operations. All police units in the region were directed to conduct checkpoints.
As of this time, there have been no contact or demands from the abductors.
