The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has launched a program called “e-Panalo ang Kinabukasan”.

To help people in the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) learn about digital money management.

This program is supported by Globe Telecom and GCash, a mobile wallet service.

They are giving mobile phones to 4Ps members so they can use digital tools to manage their money more easily.

On March 18, 2025, the first 50 phones were given out at the Navotas Sports Complex to people from Navotas and Malabon.

The goal is to help these families get their cash grants faster and safer.

Eventually, 32,684 families across the country will receive phones, focusing on those who need it most, like those living in remote areas.

This initiative aims to teach people how to use digital apps for banking and other financial tasks.

It’s part of a bigger effort to make sure everyone has equal access to financial services, whether they live in cities or rural areas.

Partnerships between the government and private companies like Globe and GCash are crucial in making this happen.

By providing both technology and education, the DSWD hopes to create a more inclusive financial system that helps these communities grow economically.

Overall, this program is a big step towards empowering 4Ps members with the skills they need to manage their finances digitally, which should lead to greater financial independence and stability.

Who is eligible to receive a mobile phone under this program?

Beneficiaries classified under Level 1 (Survival Level) of the 4Ps program, especially those in remote or disadvantaged areas, are prioritized under this program. Selection is based on socio-economic status and accessibility to digital financial services.

How will beneficiaries know if they are selected?

The DSWD will notify selected beneficiaries through their local government units (LGUs) and 4Ps coordinators. Official announcements may also be made via text message, social media, or barangay offices.

What features do these mobile phones have?

The phones come pre-installed with essential apps such as GCash for cash grants, messaging apps, and internet access to help beneficiaries manage their financial transactions securely.
