MANILA, PHILIPPINES – Golden Globe and British Academy Film Award nominee Dolly de Leon will join the cast of the upcoming second season of Hulu’s Nine Perfect Strangers.”
According to the article on Deadline, Filipina actress Dolly de Leon will be joining the show along with fellow newcomers Murray Bartlett, Liv Ullmann, Maisie Richardson-Sellers, and Aras Aydin.
The show is based on the 2018 book of the same name by Liane Moriarty, whose other novel, “Big Little Lies,” was adapted by HBO into a series starring Nicole Kidman.
The show’s second season will follow nine stressed city dwellers trying to get on a path to a better way of living with a 10-day stay at a boutique wellness resort in the Swiss Alps, with no idea of what’s about to come.
The first season was Hulu’s most-watched original series in 2021. It stars Kidman with Filipino-Canadian actors Manny Jacinto, Melissa McCarthy, Michael Shannon, Luke Evans, Bobby Cannavale, Regina Hall, and Samara Weaving.
Since receiving global recognition for her role in the Palme d’Or 2022-winning film “Triangle of Sadness,” de Leon has received honors and opportunities left and right.
Earlier this April, de Leon led the judging panel of the inaugural Summer Metro Manila Film Festival. He was recognized at the Film Development Council of the Philippines’ Parangal ng Sining.
