Lauengco emphasized that Willie Ong would utilize social media and other online platforms to campaign. When asked why Doc Willie Ong filed for candidacy, the spokesperson said, “His initial decision talaga was not to run. In fact, mag-eendorse nalang sana siya. Sabi niya, o kaya, medyo magastos.”
He further added, “Napagdesisyonan niyang, ‘You know, I think this is something of a sign. You never really know what’s going to happen. So, might as well go for what I believe is right.’”
Lauengco also shared that Doc Willie Ong’s illness and the elections are things he intends to fight.
“This is a faith-based campaign. Faith that the people will understand, faith that God will give him enough time to finish this. And faith that enough people will like him enough, support him enough to propel him to the Senate. So, sabi niya, ‘God’s will, takbo tayo.’”
