David Licauco recently shared his candid insights about life as an actor, dating preferences, and how he navigates the pressures of being in the public eye in an episode of Toni Talks.

During the conversation with Toni Gonzaga, Licauco expressed his genuine appreciation of his career.

He noted, “I love the craft of acting, the monetary benefits of it, the people that you meet. It’s just a blessing na, you get to make people happy without really trying much. I think it’s a gift.”

However, the actor also touched on the challenges of dating in the entertainment industry noting “it’s harder to date.”

“Kasi I prefer non-showbiz, really,” he explained, “Kapag medyo kilala ka, they would think na, ‘Oh, baka lolokohin lang ako nito.’”

Despite his preference, he remains open to dating someone from showbiz if the connection is right. Notably, Licauco hasn’t had a serious relationship with anyone in the industry since entering it eight years ago.

The interview also discussed the actor’s current “loveteam” with Barbie Forteza, with Toni noting both have recently ended relationships.

When asked about the pressure from fans who are rooting for them, Licauco acknowledged the challenges, saying, “Yes it’s a bit pressuring pero di ko naman siya iniisip as negative.”

Additionally, the actor clarified his misunderstood “chill lang” social media post following the JakBie breakup.

“Some people think na, ‘I’m riding the breakup,’” he said, noting he is blamed by fans for causing the breakup.

He cleared, “Yung ‘chill lang’ na caption kina-caption ko rin siya sa mga previous posts ko. So hindi naman talaga siya [connected].” He also added he was bored that day.

David Licauco is a Filipino actor, model, and entrepreneur known for his roles in television dramas and romantic series. He rose to fame for his portrayal of Fidel in the hit historical series Maria Clara at Ibarra, earning recognition for his charm and on-screen chemistry with co-star Barbie Forteza.
